Hall of Fame
The SOMA 'Hall of Fame' award is a recognition awarded by SOMA to martial artists who have made outstanding contributions to the development and furtherance of martial arts in Australia. The award may be made to martial artists still living or to deceased persons. The award is marked by a signed and sealed certificate.
The inaugural recipients of these awards have been Bill Vaughan (deceased) and Amos (Moss) Hollis (deceased). When such an award is made to a person who is deceased, every effort is made to hand the resulting certificate to that person's closest living relative. This has been the case for the certificates for Vaughan, and Hollis
There is no requirement to make such an award at any stage, rather the award is made on an ad hoc basis to those individuals who it is believed deserve it.
